DexterVPN for Android
Planned Android phone and tablet VPN app with modern protocols and account-based device management. Not yet publicly available.
System requirements
- Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later recommended
- Google Play or official APK distribution when launched (channel TBD)
- DexterVPN account within the 10-device account limit
Planned setup flow
- Install the DexterVPN Android app from the official source at launch
- Sign in and accept the Android VPN connection request
- Choose automatic protocol selection or pick WireGuard, OpenVPN or IKEv2
- Connect and verify your IP change using a trusted external checker if needed

Security considerations
- Android displays a persistent VPN key icon while connected — this is expected
- Avoid sideloading modified APK files
- Use always-on VPN settings only if you understand battery and connectivity trade-offs
Troubleshooting preparation
- If the VPN permission dialog was dismissed, reinstall or clear app data to re-prompt
- Disable battery optimization for DexterVPN if the OS stops background VPN sessions
- Switch server location if a specific endpoint is unreachable
